5 elements of Vastu
Universe is composed of five basic elements - Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space.
This is the core belief of Vastu Shastra and this is the science which aims to achieve balance between these elements.

Earth: Taurus (2), Virgo (6), Capricon (10)
Air: Gemni (3), Libra (7), Aquarius (11)
Water: Cancer (4), Scorpio (8), Pisces (12)
Water (Jal)
It represents flow and emotions. This can be achieved by placing water features such as fountains or aquarium in the northeast supporting prosperity and health.

Air (Vaayu)
It controls movement and communication. It can be ensured through ample ventilation and placement of plant in northwest which is the zone for promoting circulation.
Space (Akaash)

It represents openness. It can be achieved by keeping the central areas clutter-free which allows flow of energy throughout the structure.
Fire (Agni)
Fire stands for transformation
and energy. This can be achieved by placing the kitchen or fire related activities in southeast which attracts warmth.

Earth (Prithvi)

It symbolizes stability and support. It can be achieved by placing heavy furniture or stones in southwest part of the space which reenforces grounding energy.
